It's been a busy day. I decided to try making a card for Pastor Appreciation Sunday that's coming up at church in a few weeks. Tried watercolor over this cross embossing folder that Candee sent me a.while back. Then I inked over it to bring out the words. It was ok but smeared quite a bit. Then I tried pigment ink over the card and the third one is an ink cube. Still pretty rough. Ran out of time to.put some watercolor over the other two. Any ideas or input is welcome!

Just more practicing for echo stamping. The videos are about a half hour long and I haven't had time to go on to another lesson and play so I've just been making more tags. PXL_20240223_020941307.MP by Gayle Churches, on Flickr

There is so much repetition until they get good at it. I think this is similar.

Yes, that embossing folder doesn't emboss very deeply. You could try putting a light layer of paint on a mat, then gently laying the embossed piece on the paint, and lightly tapping. Also, if you are using a sponge ink pad, they tend to "indent" more easily, and will definitely get into the grooves, so a firmer felt pad works better. Did you drag the pad over the embossing? Do you have chalks? Maybe try chalk instead of ink or paint? Chalk erases fairly easily. And, put some paper over the blank areas to your ink isn't getting into those - surround the cross with paper...
