I have a week of the stamping class done. For the next couple days I need to work on getting the March Double layout Challenge done. So no pictures for me until I post the challenge March 1st. ☺️

Today I used my distress watercolor pencils and a water brush to color a stamped image. Tim Holtz said to stamp the image with permanent black ink using your stamping platform then color the image and when you are done re-stamp the image to bring the detail lines back out. Just wanted to see if it works. I used my Versafine Clair but I think I need to get a black Archival ink. Might try it again with a different stamp too.

I have done that restamping after coloring. It really makes the image pop. You did a good job with the pencils. Did you like using them? I've heard mixed reviews, but mainly people seem to like them.

I think it looks great . What stamp is it? I love the flower image. This is a really old Gina K Stamp called Wild Roses. I wanted one with flowers and leaves all in one. I see so many I’d like to buy but I think they are so expensive.

Compact and they will last me a really long time because they don’t dry out, you can sharpen them, a little goes a long way. Really nice for water coloring stamps. The only downside to me is that they are more opaque than pure distress inks.

I think it looks very nice! I think I too need a permanent archival black ink. What one are you thinking to get? I am planning to buy another Ranger Black Archival Ink. I have one but it’s old and dry. I stamped the image with my old Versafine ink and heat set it and I still felt like it mixed some black into my watercolor. I stamped it the second time with the Versamark Clair in Nocturne which is a super juicy pad and takes a long time to dry. I struggle with what black ink to use so any and all suggestions are welcome!

I'd like to save it for pretty colors!

I will send you a couple of the TH magnolia images that I got about six months ago. If we share stamped images it makes them cost less. At least that is my rational

If you want to watercolor it then it needs permanent ink and watercolor paper but if you want to color it with your copics then Dye ink and super smooth paper.

Surprise me and I will be happy . I will stamp the magnolias on both so you can try it out too.

Anyone else want any , while I have the stamps and ink out??? I would like a magnolia. We had a really big magnolia bush in the front yard when I was growing up. It was always so beautiful!
