I decided to try doing a loose watercolor flower design I saw on a reel. In my opinion, it looks nothing like the reel but it was an interesting experiment! I'm not sure I'll ever get this watercolor stuff right but it's fun to try and makes me happy to be using some of my paint brushes and distress inks. This one has lumberjack plaid with a mix of barn door watercolor pencil. The stems are a mix of rustic wilderness and mowed lawn.

Love the water coloring Gloria. I am going to cut some fabric squares for the quilt blocks. I figured it was the perfect thing to do while my contact lenses get the deep clean.

Does anyone remember this project that Ciri gave us the instructions for at a camp? I have no idea how old this UFO is, but I finally finished it with the dates and a few embellishments tonight. PXL_20240403_021449484 by Gayle Churches, on Flickr

I had forgotten about that! You did a really great job on it! Will you leave it out for at least a while, or put it in an album?

Well, I tried. I was working on adding posts to the Pooh album. EVERYthing fought me. For some reason, the posts that are supposed to be "generic" and "fit all" did not. Plus, they made them just too long.
I finally found posts that I thought were a good length, and tried them. Well, still too long, but I decided they would work better if I added spacers to the binding. I had four quite thick ones, but the holes were not lined up right.
So, got the leather punch out because it has a punch that is the right size. Except, I couldn't get the wheel to turn. I took it to DH for help, and he finally got it working. Then, it wouldn't punch through the chipboard. So, DH tried it. He kind of ruined that one, though. We ended up taking them to the drill press and making the holes with that.
I added the spacers, then decided I really didn't like that bare spine. I found a piece of wide ribbon that would work, so I added that. But, the spacers still weren't enough, so the ribbon stuck out more than I wanted it to. I need to make a few more spaces. But, on to the pocket because I was sick of trying to figure out how thick I needed the spine to make the album work properly. (Have I ever mentioned that I'm kind of "anal" about things???)
So, I figured out how I thought I wanted the pocket. Only things went sideways in a hurry with that, too. I couldn't get things right in my head how it should be done, and I ended up making a sort of a "box". Well, DUH! THAT was NOT going to work. When closing the album, it, of course, kind of "crushed" the box, making it look like a young kid had made it. I'm glad I hadn't glued it to the album!
So, I gave up. My fingers were not happy any way, and I didn't want to ruin any more paper. I just don't know what the whole thing was about yesterday, but nothing worked the way I had planned or hoped. I don't know if I'm going to give it another try today, or just let my fingers rest. I was so annoyed and discouraged yesterday that I wanted to chuck the whole thing. Like, "whatever makes me think I am good at anything" discouraged. Ergghh!
So, sorry for my saga. You all know that I do tend to go on. And on. And on.

Mandi, how are the contacts working for you? I pray they are working very well, and no more headaches! I am still using the same ones from last summer, so headaches are still there unless I wear the pinhole glasses when I need them. I still just waiting to hear from the doctor's office in Ohio for the surgery schedule. After recovery, I will see if I need the contacts anymore or not.
